Nintendo Switch Spine Dimensions – Exact Size Guide

The standard printable Switch spine size

For a standard Nintendo Switch physical game case, make your custom spine artwork 10 mm wide × 161 mm tall. In inches, that is approximately 0.394 in × 6.339 in. These dimensions describe the visible narrow edge of the wrap. Leave a small amount of bleed when you print, then trim carefully to the final size for the cleanest result.

For a convenient high-resolution PNG export, use 240 × 1500 pixels. That preserves the correct portrait proportion and supplies enough detail for a crisp print. SVG is even better for a template because it is vector artwork: it can scale for your printer without becoming soft. Download our ready-to-edit printable SVG below.

Print settings that preserve the measurement

The print dialog is where most sizing mistakes happen. Set scaling to 100%, “actual size,” or “none.” Do not select “fit to printable area.” Printers have margins, so center the artwork on a normal A4 or Letter page rather than trying to print at the page edge. A quick plain-paper test lets you measure the result with a ruler before you use better stock.

Why allow for a test fit?

Cases can vary a fraction of a millimetre and individual printers can scale subtly. A test strip is the fastest way to confirm the design slips under the clear sleeve without buckling. If the strip is too wide, trim a hair from one side. If it is short, re-check scaling rather than stretching the source file. The title should remain vertically centered and readable from about an arm’s length away.
