SwitchSpines is built around printable, original designs for people who want a shelf that is easier to browse and more personal than a wall of identical red case spines. A request is a signal that a game deserves a distinctive visual direction: a calm palette for a farming game, a bold recognizable symbol for an action title, or a warm vintage treatment for a classic RPG. The on-site queue lets collectors see which titles are gaining support and whether a design is requested, planned, in design, or already published.
Search the full spine archive before adding a title. There may already be a collection waiting for you, with five printable SVG variations to choose from. If the game appears in the request queue, use the “Me too” button instead of entering it again. Duplicate submissions are also combined automatically, so every title has one useful demand count.
Requests are prompts, not permission to copy cover art. Every SwitchSpines design uses original artwork, bold shelf-readable symbols, and a print-first layout that evokes a game's identity without simply reproducing commercial packaging. That approach makes the archive practical to print and safer to share. For a design you need immediately, the finished spine catalog lets you make a clean text-and-color version in minutes.
Make a useful request
Include the exact game title and, if helpful, a brief note about the feeling you want. “Dark blue cosmic JRPG” or “soft pastel farming shelf” is more useful than a long plot description. A recognizable object, emblem, creature shape, or visual mood can give a contributor a productive starting point. Do not upload copyrighted cover art as a shortcut.
Request totals and production status are public so the release order can become more accountable as the community grows. Individual submissions and notes are reviewed privately by the site owner; no email address or personal profile is collected. A highly requested title is not an automatic promise, but it is a much stronger signal than a private message.
